SOLE SOURCE TO THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT HUNTSVILLE (UAH). SEE NUMBERED Note 22. The objective of this engineering effort is to conduct activities in system engineering and in the advanced weapon system and manufacturing technology areas of manufacturing process development, forecasting and assessment, automation, and simulation; analysis of target intercept characteristics; electronic data acquisition hardware and/or software systems; improved statistical methodology and signal processing techniques, with software, for incomplete, low quality test data; optics, artifical intelligence, robotic and expert systems support for Advanced Simulation Center (ASC) simulations; computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software for the characterization of targets with application to vulnerability, survivability, lethality assessments; internal radiated waveform and field analysis; aero/optic simulations and databases;computer-aided design; robotics and automation simulation for advanced manufacturing technologies; distributed systems; software engineering; capabilities for embedded system development; manufacturing technologies and non-destructive testing; the application of artifical intelligence to process design and control; and advanced weapon system manufacturing.
