- Description
- Provide all labor, equipment, materials (except Government furnished items), transportation and other items required to aerial spray approximately 6,000 acres (plus/minus 15%). Insecticides to be applied are Bacillus thuringiensis var kurstaki, or Btk, (2,900 acres), and diflubenzuron (3,100 acres). Applications are to be made on fifteen areas, at elevations ranging from 1,200' to 3,700'. Areas are located on the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, in Allegheny, Bath, Botetourt and Shenandoah Counties in Virginia, and Hampshire and Hardy Counties in West Virginia, and Hampshire and Hardy Counties in West Virginia, and on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Bedford and Botetourt Counties, Virginia. Work is expected to begin approximately May 10, 2001. All areas are to be sprayed using either fixed wing or rotary winged aircraft. The Contractor will be required to provide either one observation airplane for each application airplane or one observation helicopter for each application helicopter. In addition to providing insecticide application and observation aircraft costs, offerors will be required to provide a Differentially Corrected Global Positioning System-Based Aircraft Tracking Guidance and Flight Path Recording System (DGPS) in the application aircraft. Small Business concerns as well as other firms may participate.
