Description
The Social Security Administration requires contract services of a BC/BE Psychiatrist or Psychologist to serve as Chief Regional Medical Consultant (RMC) to provide leadership and expertise in the review of medical claims under the Disability Program of Titles II and IVI of the Social Security Act. This procurement will be for commercial services prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The period of performance shall be from on or about February 1, 2001, with four one-year options. Services involve the review of medical evidence in disability claims. Performance of services will be in Government space in the Boston area. Some travel may be required and there is no patient contact. A minimum of 15 hours is required per workweek within the 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. time frame. The Chief RMC provides leadership, technical direction and guidance to the State Disability Determiniation Services and Federal medical staff who work as case revieweres at the Disability Quality Branch/SSA, in addition to case development, review and adjudication functions. The chief RMC assists in identifying psychiatric and medical policy issues and trends and in training disability personnel at both the Federal and State level. Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. RFQ is scheduled to be released on or about December 22, 2000 with quotes due January 22, 2001. No telephone requests for the RFQ will be honored. This requirement is 100% small business set-aside. Quotes from other than a small business will be deemed unacceptable and given no further consideration.
