Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for proposals (RFP). This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular No. 97-20. The contractor shall provide moving services to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) located at 1155 21st Street, N.W, Washington, DC. Services shall consist of, but are not limited to, moving furniture, equipment and supplies, reorganization of stocked items for shipment and receipt of new items, and transportation of items from CFTC to storage facilities. It is anticipated that one person will be needed for moving items on site at CFTC each weekday (Monday Friday), excluding Federal Holidays. Work schedule shall from be 8:00 AM 2:00 PM, except that hours on Wednesday shall be 8:00 AM 4:30 PM. Payment shall be made for actual hours worked. Work schedule is subject to change by CFTC. As needed, the contractor shall provide a truck and driver, and all other necessary personnel to move items from CFTC to storage facilities. The contractor shall provide supervision, as appropriate, to moving staff. The duration of the contract shall be one year from the date of award (expected 1/1/01) and the contract shall include an option for one additional year, to be exercised at the sole discretion of CFTC. This contract will be subject to Department of Labor Service Contract Act Wage Determination No. 1995-0819, Revision 8. A copy of the Wage Determination may be obtained from the Contracting Officer. Proposals must be signed and dated and include: (1) fixed hourly rates for laborers, truck and driver, and supervisory personnel (rates must be proposed separately for the first year and the option year of the contract), (2) three current client references with POC name and phone number, and (3) a completed copy of FAR 52.212-3, Representations and Certifications Commercial Items (this form is on the Internet at: http://www.arnet.gov/far/). In making selection for award, the agency will consider price and past performance, and will select the proposal that is deemed overall to be the most advantageous to the Government.
