Description

This project, located on the Sequoia National Forest, is to construct a two lane paved access road from SR 178 to the Kern River. The road is 524 meters long and includes the construction of three small parkng lots totalling approximately 25 parking spaces. Road construction includes two intersections with SR 178, guardrail, two gates, two cattleguards, geocell reinforced reaining wall, geotextile reinforced subgrade, signage, and other related items. Included in this project is the supply and installation of two single unit precast concrete vault toilet buildings and one bulletin board. The project begins on the south end of the bridge crossing the Kern River on Hwy 178. The estimated start work date is February 5, 2001. Estimated contract time is 120 days. Estimated Pre-Bid meeting,at project site, is January 3, 2001 at 1000. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. There may be a charge for the plans and specifications.
