Description

The Coast Guard intends to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for full and open competition on or about 20 December 2000 for the design of a 240 foot Great Lakes Icebreaker (GLIB). The GLIB will be multi-purpose with a forward buoy deck. The contract type will be Firm Fixed Price. Construction of the Great Lakes Icebreaker will be an option which may be exercised either at contract award or during a later option period. GLIB construction will be fixed price incentive subject to an economic price adjustment clause. Other optional items are fixed price and others are cost reimbursement. The RFP will be distributed only through the Coast Guard website: http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-a/glib/. The Past Performance portion of the proposal is due about 90 days after release of the solicitation and the remainder of the proposal (Technical/Management, Price, and Administrative Documentation) is due about 120 days after release of the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Coast Guard
