Description

The Patuxent River Infrared Signature Measurements Program (PRISM), located at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Patuxent River, MD has a requirement for one each Long-Wave Infrared (LWIR) Digital Video Camera electronics package with the flexibility to integrate an Focal Plane Array (FPA) produced by a third party. The Camera electronics must generate digital video at a rate of 90+ frames per second at the full 640x480 resolution, generating a sustained data rate of 40+ million pixels-per-second. The analog-to-digital converters (ADC) must have a 14-bit resolution. The PRISM program requirements of a state-of-the-art, ground-to-air, infrared (IR) signature measurement system has two driving requirements: resolution and sensitivity. The government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, a firm fixed price contract with Lockheed/Santa Barbara Focalplane, 346 Bollay Drive, Goleta, CA 93117. Award is anticipated by December 31, 2000. Lockheed/Santa Barbara is the developer and manufacturer of this and other equipment and compatible components under the PRISM program. Delivery, to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD, is required within 150 days of award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may submit a capability statement. All capability statements received in response to this notice will be considered by the Government for the purpose of determining whether to initiate a competitive procurement. The government reserves the right to process this procurement as a sole source based on the responses received.
