Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Silver Spring, Maryland is seeking sources for a planned acquisition. The NWS and other Government agencies need real-time lightning strike parameters and system status information (collectively termed "data" or "lightning data"). Responses to this sources sought synopsis shall be submitted within fourteen days of publication the CBD to the following address: U.S. Dept of Commerce/NOAA, Acquisition Management Division/IT Contracts Branch, 1305 East-West Highway, Room 7604, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910, ATTN: LaMar Carlson. Reference "Lightning Data" in the subject line of your response letter. A draft statement of work (SOW) will be available for review and comment approximately Dec 12, 2000 at the following web site: http://www.rdc.noaa.gov/~amd/SOLINDEX.HTML, the draft SOW is posted under the title "Lightning Data". This is a sources sought synopsis. This announcement is an attempt is identify interested sources only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded pursuant to this synopsis. Furthermore, the Government will not pay for information received in response to this synopsis.
