Description

This is not a request for a proposal and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. Potential sources are sought for preventive maintenance, operation, inspection, repair, and testing (prevention, correction, operation, and repair) of fire alarm systems including the Fire Department Central Stations, security alarm systems consisting of intrusion detection systems (IDS) including the IDS Central Station, and traffic control systems at Travis AFB, CA. The objective is to determine if this service is customarily available in the commercial market and to determine the most suitable method for acquiring the services. The results of this research will determine commercial practices for the method of contracting, types of contracts, performance standards, and method of inspection. Contractor shall provide all management, personnel, equipment, materials, parts, tools, transportation, supervision, inspection, troubleshooting, testing and other items and services necessary to insure serviceability and operation of fire alarm systems including the Fire Department Central Stations, security alarm systems consisting of intrusion detection systems (IDS) including the IDS Central Station, and traffic control systems. Systems mix is 65% fire alarms, 33% security alarms and 2% traffic signals. Potential sources need to express their interest in writing by 15 Dec 00. Sources shall include their business size and their experience, if any,in installation, maintenance, repair and inspections of alarms, and traffic signals.
