- Description
- . The contractor shall provide all labor, plant, materials, equipment, and transportation as required to install two gates with operators and one operator for existing iron gate on Andrews AFB, Maryland. The work shall consist of, but not be limited to, performing all electrical hookups and installations to ensure proper operation and installation in accordance with the manufacturers installation procedures so as not to void any manufacturer warranties. Work shall comply with applicable government and commercial standards in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC). All gate openings will be adequate for two-lane use. All gates will have loop detectors, to cause gate to open automatically if approached from controlled area side, and to close after vehicle clears gates. All gates will have manual disconnect capability as accessed from the controlled area side. All card readers will be connected to communication links for real time control or updating from remote station. All card readers, encoders and related equipment shall be compatible with the existing computer hardware and software presently used at the Andrews AFB visitor center. All card coding equipment for coding line badges, must also be provided in this project (Security Forces Visitors Center). Ensure each gate has a manual override system installed. Provide Andrews AFB, Maryland with a heavy commercial type warranty for each gate. Employ method of running conduit under pavement by bore rather than cut and patch unless space requires otherwise *(DV area only). Return grounds and pavement to previously existing condition. Dispose of all materials not used or re-used in the project. This is not a request for proposal, but for informational purposes only and not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
