Description

The Naval Air System Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, hereby request your participation in establishing a data base of information as follows: The Joint Information for Systems Technology, Test and Training (JIST3) World Wide Web (WWW) site supports Defense Department business in the aligned areas of Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Training. The JIST3 web site is located at http://jcs.mil. It is maintained by the Defense Department's Joint Program Office for Test and Evaluation (JPO(T&E)) at Andrews AFB, Maryland. One of the JIST3 services is an information tool known as the Facility and Capability Information for Test and Training (FACITT). FACITT uses a natural language search engine to canvass sites of importance to the JIST3 communities and return results concerning government owned and operated facilities and capabilities in the areas of Science and Technology (S&T), Test and Evaluation (T&E), Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training. During the developmental stages of FACITT, emphasis was placed on including DoD and other government sites. An initiative is now underway to include an inventory of commercial sites of interest to the JIST3 communities within FACITT. Such sites will be listed as a specialized search library within FACITT. In such fashion a researcher may choose to isolate commercial capabilities or to include them as appropriate with other relevant search categories. This announcement seeks the Universal Resource Locators (URL) for specific commercial, industrial or private entities that support web sites that deal specifically in topics of interest to the JIST3 community. Such sites may deal with commercially available research and development laboratories, test facilities, test tools, test methodologies, training tools, distance learning tools, ranges, instrumentation, modeling and simulation, relevant intellectual capital or other resources of immediate value to the Defense Department test and training communities. This announcement seeks the submission of embedded URLs referencing the types of specific items as listed above (As opposed to high level corporate Home Pages or advertising media). Commercial or private industry companies or corporations that fit the description herein and wish to be included in FACITT, may submit WWW site URLs via electronic mail to corpsite@jcs.mil. Likewise, the FACITT registration form within the FACITT application (found within http://jcs.mil) may also be used to submit candidate URLs for the FACITT commercial library.
