Description
The U.S. EPA is seeking sources interested in the operation of cafeteria services on-site at the Andrew W. Briedenbach Environmental Research Center (AWBERC) located at 26 West Martin Luther King Drive in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is a market survey for written information only. This is NOT a solicitation announcement for proposals. There is no solicitation available at this time. This is a market search whereby the Government is seeking written information only from sources interested in providing these services. A separate synopsis will be issued in the CBD when the solicitation is going to be issued. The period of performance for the new contract will be from October 1, 2001 thorough September 30, 2002 with up to four one year option periods. The EPA will issue a "no-cost", "profit/loss" type contract. The building has approximately 700-800 people. The service required will include breakfast, lunch and the provision of snacks and hot/cold beverages available at all times. The hours of operation for the cafeteria are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Description of facilities: Lower level of AWBERC, 26 W. Martin Luther King Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45268-7001. The square feet for the cafeteria is 5200. Seating capacity is 250 people. Cafeteria services will be provided 5 days per week, Monday through Friday except holidays observed by the Federal government. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide a variety of quality prepared foods. The contractor shall meet business and industry standards of quality and nutrition and comply and support all pertinent U.S. Dietary Guidelines. The variety and appearance of food in the cafeteria on each operating day shall be consistent with approved food service industry standards for comparable "business and industry" cafeterias. The current contract offers full breakfast, soup, hot entree, grill, sandwich station, and salad bar. The EPA requests interested parties to submit a one to three page synopsis describing your capabilities as a cafeteria services provider and the services (i.e menu)your firm could provide. All capability statements will be reviewed by the EPA. Creative approaches to providing the cafeteria requirements are encouraged. The Government will provide equipment that will be identified in the resulting solicitation. In addition the Government will provide the following items: A. A dining area including chairs, tables and other furniture or equipment necessary to maintain a dining area in an efficient, healthful manner. B. Trash and garbage is removed once after 4:00 p.m. from the dining area receptacles only. C. Sanitary washrooms and locker space for Contractor's employees. D. Scavenger and exterminator service, as necessary for the maintenance of healthful facility. E. Utilities, including oil, gas, electricity, water and sewer. F. Utility connections including oil, gas, electricity, water and sewer. G. Adequate kitchen equipment. H. China and flatware required in servicing 700-800 people. Any interested firm should submit a capability statement which demonstrates the firm's qualifications/ability to provide the required services along with a list of current customers.
