Description

The Government intends to issue a Request for Proposal for the construction of the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center, Beltsville, Maryland. The BHNRC consists of two masonry buildings, one consisting of 47,000 square feet, and one consisting of 45,000 square feet. Both buildings are 2-stories high with basement and attic. Buildings are limestone and brick with storefront and curtain wall glazing systems. Interiors of buildings consist of laboratories, research kitchens, and administrative space. Pitched roofs have aluminum batten seam roofing system. The total estimated cost of construction is between $15 million and $20 million. Total time for completion of the work will be 730 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. A pre-proposal conference and organized site visit will be scheduled for approximately mid January 2001. Sets of plans and specifications will be available for a non-refundable charge of $200.00 (check or money order) made payable to USDA, Agricultural Research Service. A written request, along with the check or money order, must be sent to Jacobs Facilities, 1300 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 500, Arlington, Virginia 22209, Attention: James Akkawi.
