Description
The National Park Service, Department of the Interior, is soliciting proposals from construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The work of this contract consists of the general construction of designing, furnishing and installing, fire suppression (sprinkler) and alarm systems for fifty-one historic primarily residential scale buildings including cutting, patching, painting and finish materials associated with installation. The estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The time for completion is 365 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. All requests for project documents must be submitted in writing to the National Park Service, PO Box 25287, DSC-CS, Denver, CO 80225 or faxed to the attention of Joe Duncan at 303.987.6645. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available approximately 21 days from publication of this notice. Proposal receipt date is approximate; actual date will be established at the time the RFP is available. The NPS contemplates site visits two weeks after the RFP is issued. Exact date and time will be shown in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered. Criteria for selection: Previous experience in the designing furnishing, and installing of fire suppression and alarm systems. Previous experience in rehabilitating and retrofitting utility systems in historic structures. Previous experience performing construction projects for the National Park Service or other local, state and federal government agencies. Previous construction experience in conducting work on numerous sites simultaneously, including effectively sequencing trades to facilitate completion of the work and minimal disturbance to the properties.
