Description

SOURCES SOUGHT: This is not a solicitation for bids/proposals but an announcement for SBA 8(a) construction contractors. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, wishes to obtain information from participating 8(a) construction contractors with sufficient bonding capacity and rail construction experience who may be interested in constructing a new facility at Fort Bliss, Texas. This facility will primarily involve heavy rail track construction as described below. Project consists of, but is not limited to the following work: Constructing 15,411 meters of new railroad tracks, 24 turnouts, 9 loading ramps, a 668 square meter railroad engine shop, 11,288 square meters of roadway for wheeled vehicles, repair of 891 meters of existing railroad tracks, and constructing miscellaneous supporting structures and utilities necessary to complete a fully operational rail deployment facility. The magnitude of this construction project is estimated to be more than $10,000,000. Interested parties shall respond to this notice by submitting a letter of interest in the project. Letter of interest shall include: current bonding capacity per construction contract, a listing of recently completed rail construction projects reflecting the magnitude (dollar value), location, and a very brief description of the work to include names and phone numbers of references (client, owner, Government Agency) of persons who may be contacted regarding your past performance on completed rail projects.
