Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR WIRE EDM MACHINE. NOTE: Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to make changes to the original specifications as follows: CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS -SOL. 057-RFVA.1010 Amendment 2 Para D. Shall be capable of cutting tapers of at least +/- 15 degrees in (changed from 2.000 to ) 3.000 inch thick material throughout the maximum X-Y-axes travels. Para I. The level of the bath in the work tank shall be programmable along with the Z-axis allowing for submersion of varying work piece height to a maximum of at least (changed from 9.000 inches to) 7.250 inches while keeping the U and V axes clear of the bath. Para J. For unattended operation the machine shall be capable of automatically threading various wire diameters from a minimum of no more than .004 inches to a maximum of no less than .012 inches through a start hole of no more than .040 inches diameter through a work piece height of at least (changed from 9.000 inches submerged or non-submerged to) 7.250 inches while work piece is submerged and 9.000 inches while workpiece is non-submerged. Para Q. Delete: Shall be equipped with dielectric chiller unit that has a tank capacity of at least 10 gallons and has the capability of maintaining the dielectric fluid temperature constant with the ambient temperature while the machine is in operation both when the work piece is submerged or non-submerged.) Add: The machine shall have a work tank large enough to allow the complete submersion in dielectric fluid of a work piece that is at least 28.000 inches in length, 20.000 inches in width, 7.250 inches in height, and the clamping devices used to secure the work piece to the table. The work tank shall have a removable door to facilitate work piece set-up. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended and remains at December 15, 2000. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on [ENTER DATE].
