Description
Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN intends to procure a Cardiology Database (CBD). This is an unrestricted competitive procurement being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.5 test program; simplified acquisition procedures apply. VA will conduct the procurement according to a combination of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. NAICS code is 334519, 500 employees. This CBD database is an application to be used primarily for cardiac cath and echocardiography report generation; it will incorporate data acquired by two (2) GE/Marquette recording systems for cath procedures and by HP (Agilent) and Acuson ultrasound scanners for echo procedures; the database will contain procedural data, quantitative measurements and qualitative impressions; must interface to existing VA Vista Hospital Information System via HL-7 for exchange of patient demographic information and textual summaries from cath and echo reports. Additional desirable functional modules include EP Lab, Nuclear, Cardiovascular Surgery (including pacemakers and ICD), Cardiac Rehab, Inventory Control, Integrated Link to GE/Marquette Muse for retrieval of 12-lead ECG, Holter and Stress Test, and Echocardiography and other image management functions. Purchase of desired additional items is dependent on cost as funds are limited. Vendor's past performance of successful application/operation at other facility(ies) will be a main evaluation factor for award; technical evaluations will include vendor demonstration of proposed system(s) with award expected on or before April 15, 2001.
