Description
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting a Market Research of Industry to determine potential contractors who have the skills, experience and knowledge required to successfully complete this effort. This is not a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid. This F-16 Support Division, Core Avionics Section, has a requirement for the manufacture and delivery of a high voltage power supply to replace the High Voltage Power supply (HVPS) (NSN 6130-01-228-3829, PN 800285-92) in the F-16 Multifunction Display Set (MFDS). The HVPS receives +35 vdc power and provides the MFD Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) with the following regulated voltages: anode, focus, and grid 2. a. The anode is provided with a 22 kvdc from an eight-stage voltage multiplier. b. The focus filter assembly provides output voltage between 4 kvdc and 5 kvdc. c. The grid 2 filter circuit provides grid 2-output voltages of 550 vdc and 850 vdc. The HVPS also contains failure detection circuitry, which can momentarily shut down or disable the HVPS if any voltage goes out of limits or if a connector on any SRU within the MFD is disconnected. Under these conditions a HVPS FAIL signal is generated. The Air Force would like to replace this MVPS with a new design, under the Falcon Flex Program (Form, Fit and Function Interface Requirement), that will be compatible with existing software and hardware interfaces, will be more reliable, and more economical to purchase than the present MFVPS. The anticipated procurement quantity is between 3,000 and 3,500. Interested parties are requested to submit two copies of a summary of the capabilities and facilities they have which will allow them to develop and manufacture a new Power Supply. The Government does not intend to contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information solicited. Written responses must be submitted by 24 January 2001 to OO-ALC/LGKE, ATTN: Cheryl Dumas, 6072 Fir Ave, Hill AFB UT 84056-5820. No telephone or FAX requests will be accepted. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are acceptable.
