Description
The US Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to award a contract for the manufacure of up to three lots of M30 type propellant to support the production of the XM232 propoelling charge system for the Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) main propellant system. The propelling charge loaded with the propellant shall function satisfactorily without inert, smoldering or burning residue and the signature shall meet the "free-field" blast overpressure criteria. This effort is part of the development of the XM232 charge. The 155MM MACS is a two-increment charge system that will provide enhanced performance for the 155MM artillery. Multiples of the increments, M231 (Zones 1&2) and XM232 (Zones 3 thru 6), will satisfy all zoning requirements for the 155MM artillery. The 155MM MACS increments can be handled by both automatic loading/resupply equipment and manually. Due to this versatility MACS increments can be used with currently fielded howitzers and future planned artillery systems. The contractor must have the required engineering staff, equipment, expertise and facilities to make up to three lots of M30 type propellant, totaling two hundred six thousand (206,000) pounds. Delivery of the first lot shall be 90 days after award of the contract. Delivery of the other two lots shall be 120 days after award of the contract. The procurement is limited to US and Canada in accordance with FAR 6.302-3 and to Expro, Canada, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. All technical data will be marked with limited distribution statement "F": Further dissemination only as directed by MACS Engineering Team, AMSTA-AR-WEE-B, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 or higher DoD authority. See Numbered Notes 8,12,22,26.
