Description

This procurement is to be firm-fixed price requirements contract to furnish paint, denatured alcohol, varnish, stain, thinner, turpentine and wood preservative & sealer to the Consolidated Material Service Center, Camp Pendleton. This synopsis is prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is issued under the authority of FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items using simplified acquisition procedures. This is only an announcement. Proposals are to be requested and a written solicitation will be issued. The solicitation number is M00681-01-T-0031 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This is an unrestricted procurement. All responsible sources may submit a quotation for consideration. The requirement is for one (1) base year and four (4) option years. The Government's need is to purchase these items on a continuous basis, through a consignment inventory and on a buy-on-demand basis. Delivery Orders will be issued under this contract on an "as required" basis. The ability of the contractor to meet the Government's demands for a "just in time" inventory concept is the primary focus of this contract. The Federal Supply Classification Code applicable to this solicitation is 8010 -- Paints, dopes, varnishes & related products. The Government intends to make a single award to the responsible offeror whose offer is the most advantageous to the Government considering price and other factors. Any contract awarded as a result of this solicitation will be a DO rated order certified for National Defense use under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System.
