Description
Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/ VA) solicits research proposals on Intelligent Control. The purpose of this acquisition is to incorporate learning, adaptation and optimization methods that have been reported in the literature (e.g. neural, fuzzy, and genetic) into flight control systems. This project should demonstrate how these technologies can be used to improve performance, reliability and reduce life cycle cost of control systems for uncertain, nonlinear, aircraft models. The program must 1) address possible failure and damage situations that will change the plant dynamics, 2) include stability analysis of the system, and 3) demonstrate algorithms in a simulation for a set of task oriented trajectories. Interested offerors may view and/or download the full PRDA/BAA solicitation by accessing the Electronic Posting System (EPS) homepage at http://www.eps.gov/. Direct questions to the Contracting point of contact identified in the announcement. During the course of the contract the contractor will be required to provide monthly status reports (DI-MGMT-80368/T), man-hour expenditure reports (DI-FNCL-80331/T), and billing vouchers (DI-MISC-80711/T). A quarterly contract funds status report (DI-MGMT-81468/T) and one final report will required (DI-MISC-80711/T). By January 2002, a system/subsystem design document will be required (DI-IPSC-81432A/T) to define interfaces and algorithm functionality.
