Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with InvenCom, L.L.C/Invencom Technologies, Charlotte, N.C. the requirement for an Innovative Stand-Off Door Breaching Munition (ISOD) to be utilized with the U.S. Marine Corps' Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon (SMAW). The purpose of the effort is to evaluate and demonstrate, through flight-testing, a unique technology effort to breach doors. It is contemplated that the effort will consist of two phases. A basic phase during which the ISOD will be technically demonstrated, and an Option Phase to develop a Tactical Training Device. The propulsion technology known as ISOD has been scaled and refined from previously developed technology being utilized by InvenCom. The solicitation number is N00178-01-R-1012.
