Description

Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Dalhousie University for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of contract is to complete fatty acid analyses of 400 prey samples including grinding, preparation, extraction methylation and GC analysis of blubber samples collected from monk seals. Dalhousie University completed similar work under a competed 1999 purchase order for the NMFS. Dalhousie University completed fatty acid analyses of approximately 1,400 blubber samples. Work to be completed under proposed contract includes 400 prey blubber samples and completion of a detailed report covering all analytical work and modeling of monk sea diets based on fatty acid signature analysis.
