Description

This is a DESIGN/BUILD request for proposal to demolish 56 two-story three bedroom family housing units. The existing 56 housing units comprise eight townhouse structures. Asbestos and lead paint removal are required. Design and construct between 43 and 56 housing units. The project includes garages and patios. Supporting facilities include utilities, storm drainage, information (telephone and cable TV) systems, street paving, walks, curbs and gutters, and landscaping. Each living unit will include all necessary appliances and equipment in order to be fully functional. Hard wired interconnected smoke detectors are required. Neighborhood amenities include playgrounds. Telephone, cable TV and electrical lines will be placed underground. Additional street security lighting will be provided. At least five percent of the units will be accessible to accommodate the requirements of the handicapped. Proposals received from this solicitation will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria listed in relative order of importance: Administrative/Management Information, Technical Design, Price Proposal, Proposed Construction Management Plan, Schedule, Subcontracting Plan and Self-Performed work (Past Performance). Estimated value is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Solicitation is to be issued on or about 3 January 2001. Proposals will be due on or about 16 February 2001, 4:30 p.m. (local time).
