Description
U.S. Customs intends to issue a solicitation for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quanity (IDIQ) contract for the following ammunition: 9MM AMMUNITION AS STATED BELOW. CALIBER: 9mm +P CASE: Nickel plated brass headstamped with the manufacturer_s symbol and appropriate cartridge description. BULLET: 124 Grain jacketed hollow-point with a bonded jacket. PRIMER: The primer shall meet Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI) requirements for sensitivity. VELOCITY: 1180 +/- 50 fps when fired from a Glock model 19 pistol. ACCURACY: Maximum average extreme spread of 2 12 inches for a 10 shot group at 25 yards when fired from a SAAMI test barrel. Maximum average extreme spread of 4 inches for a 10 shot group at 25 yards when fired from a Glock model 19 pistol. PENETRATION: Minimum of 12 inches average penetration in 10% bare gelatin. Ammunition shall meet the minimum standards of the complete FBI test protocol. EXPANSION: Minimum average expansion in 10% bare gelatin of .600 inches. DESIGN: Bullet ogive to be designed to facilitate feeding in the Glock model 19 pistol. QUANTITIES: Minimum- 500,000 rounds per year. FUNCTION: Ammunition shall be subjected to a 5000 round function test conducted by the Customs Service. Function test shall consist of 1000 rounds fired in each of five Glock model 19 pistols. Testing will be supervised by the Ordinance Specialist and the firing will be conducted by U.S. Customs Service, FTTD firearm instructors.
