Description

This is a synopsis for a firm fixed price requirement contract for the purchase of commercial hardware and landscaping tools and related supplies. This synopsis is prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is issued under the authority of FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items using simplified acquisition procedures. This is only an announcement; proposals are to be requested and a written solicitation will be issued. Solicitation Number is M00681-01-T-0029 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This is an unrestricted procurement. All responsible sources may submit a quotation for consideration. This requirement is for one (1) base year and four (4) option years for the Consolidated Material Service Center, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA 92055. The Government's need is to purchase these tools on a continuous basis, through a consignment inventory and on a buy-on-demand basis. The ability of the contractor to meet the Government's demands for a "just in time" inventory concept is the primary focus of this contract. Delivery Orders will be issued under this contract on an "as required" basis. The Federal Supply Classification Codes applicable to this solicitation are 4540 -- Miscellaneous plumbing, heating & sanitation equipment, 5340 -- Miscellaneous Hardware, and 9999 -- Miscellaneous Items. The Government intends to make a single award to the responsible offeror whose offer is the most advantageous to the Government considering price and other factors. Any contract awarded as a result of this solicitation will be a DO rated order certified for National Defense use under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System.
