- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation: offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is LAQ012001 this is a request for quote. Applicable FAR solicitation provisions and contract clauses, up through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC)97-20, are hereby incorporated by reference into this RFQ. The Contracting Officer has found and determined that this proposed procurement is appropriate for an "unrestricted" procurement pursuant to FAR subpart 19.502 (Setting Aside Acquisitions). All responsible sources may submit a price quotation which will be considered. The Bureau of Land Management, Alaska Fire Service has a requirement for 500 gallon and 2500 gallon fuel storage tanks -- extreme duty. The solicitation line-items are as follows: 2500 GALLON COLLAPSIBLE AVIATION FUEL STORAGE TANKS -- EXTREME DUTY Quantity 8 each A. Tanks must be suitable for the storage of Jet "A" -- Jet "B" -JP"4" and avgas with excellent resistance to high aromatics, abrasions and tears. B. Tank dimensions will not exceed 228 inches long by 102 inches wide when empty or exceed a dry weight of 160 pounds. C. Each tank will have two-inch standard N.P.T. female fitting for both fill/discharge and vent. One reducer from the three- inch to two inch will be allowed on fill/discharge port. No galvanized or poly type fitting will be used. Only anodized aluminum will be used. D. Each tank will be supplied with an aluminum two-inch vent, spark arrester and pressure relief. An aluminum two-inch camloc female fitting will be attached to one end of vent tube. E. Handles are required on both ends and both sides and will be appropriately spaced and reinforced to allow suspension of the tanks from one end or one side for inspections, repairs, and cleaning purposes with no folds or wrinkles. F. Each tank will be stenciled with one-inch lettering: Maximum Bill Height, Empty Weight, Date of Manufacture, Serial Number, and Capacity. G. Each tank will be stenciled in four-inch lettering on two sides: No Smoking Flammable Liquid, in red. No smoking to be placed above flammable liquid. H. A repair kit with instructions for minor field repairs will be included with each tank. I. Each tank will be supplied with its own heavy duty, anti-abrasion, puncture resistant shipping cover complete with straps, buckles, and handles suitable for field use. No zippers will be used. J. Each bidder will submit a four inch by six inch sample of tank material to be used, claims to resistance of aromatic fuels, U.V. light abrasions and tears, life expectation under normal field conditions, and if major repairs are offered at their facility when submitting their bid.. Tank dimensions will not exceed 116 inches by 68 inches wide when empty or exceed a dry weight of 60 pounds. C. Each tank will have a two-inch standard N.P.T. female fitting for both fill/discharge and vent. One reducer from three inch to two inch will be allowed on fill/discharge port. No galvanized or poly type fitting will be used. Only anodized aluminum will be used. D. Each tank will be supplied with an aluminum two-inch vent, spark arrester and pressure relief.
