Description
The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a Cost Reimbursement Modification to Contract N00019-99-C-1427 for T-58-GE-16 Engine Reliability Improvement Program (ERIP). The contract modification will be awarded on a sole source basis to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE), located at 1000 Western Avenue, Lynn, MA 01910-0445. To satisfy this requirement, the contractor will create a new model engine (T-58-GE-16A) and complete development and non-recurring engineering for a core -16A engine module. In addition, the contractor will deliver 3 prototype modules and prepare for full-scale production. GEAE is the designer, developer and original manufacturer of the T-58-GE-16 Engine, and as such, the only known source currently possessing the requisite technical knowledge, experience, expertise, facilities, tooling and technical data required to perform these efforts within the required timeframe. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. See Note 22. NAVAIR-Synopsis No.20112-00.
