- The Maryland Veterans Affairs Health Care System, Baltimore Division, Baltimore, MD is seeking an Architect/Engineering firm capable of providing professional multi-disciplinary architectural engineering services to include complete design and construction period services to renovate outpatient clinic areas in the Baltimore VA Medical Center, Baltimore, MD and the VA Baltimore Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center(BRECC), Baltimore, MD in accordance with the terms of the contract. This includes renovating existing outpatient clinic spaces to improve functionality, staff and resource efficiencies, and customer service. It will consolidate and optimize managed care clinic spaces, improve reassignment of various specialty clinic spaces,improve patient registration and waiting areas, implement new outpatient pharmacy consultation areas, and address various security issues in outpatient areas. It will also provide an additional elevator to ease patient flow issues to clinic spaces on the upper floors of the Baltimore Medical Center. The estimated construction range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Interested firms must have working offices within a 75 mile radius of the VA Baltimore Medical Center and the BRECC. The following Evaluation Criteria will be used during the A/E selection process; (1) Specialized experience of the firm to perform the work required; (2)Capacity of the firm to perform the work within required time frames; (3) Past performance particularly government contracts; (4) Specific experience and qualifications of the proposed personnel assigned to the Project Design Team;(5) Geographic location of the firm's working office in relation to the renovation site; (6) Demonstrated success in prescribing the use of recovered materials, and using waste reduction efficiency in facility design; (7) Reputation and standing of the firm and its principal officials with respect to professional performance, general management and cooperativeness and (8) Record of significant claims against the firm because of improper or incomplete architectural and engineering services.
