Description

The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of Technical Representative Services to perform the following functions: 1. Modify electric-flyer test to cause detonation of low-sensitivity materials. 2. Enhance shear-punch experimental configuration and evaluate several energetic materials. 3. Test sheet explosive in the hot-fragrament-conductive-ignition test. 4. Submit monthly progress reports. Contractor must possess a Secret Security Clearance. The period of performance is 01 January through 31 December 2001. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARL intends to purchase the above services as a sole source procurement from Dr. L.J. Vandekieft, Street, MD pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
