The U.S. Geological Survey's National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) in Madison, Wisconsin has a requirement with two major components: (1) replace the existing built-up roof system with new insulation and a loose laid ballasted EPDM roof membrane, and (2) replace existing air-handler #4 with a new 50-ton modular air-handler unit. Smaller aspects of the project include, but are not limited to: (a) conversion of the pneumatic controls system to digital controls; (b) modification to exhaust fans on the roof for ease of maintenance and to elevate discharge; (c) installation of exterior receptacles on the roof; (d) removal of abandoned piping on the roof; (e) interior renovation for correction of water damage; and (f) installation of new roof top exhaust fan. Specific work requirements are set forth in the Statement of Work and drawings. Requests for the Request for Proposal (RFP) must be sent to the Contracting Officer in writing via regular mail. There is a fee of $50.00 for the plans for this project. Please submit your check or money order for $50.00 payable to "DOI/U.S. Geological Survey." Payment that does not accompany the request for the RFP package could delay your receipt of the package. The Government cannot be held responsible for any delay caused by non-receipt of payment or due to delays in the mail. Requests must clearly state the company name and mailing address, a point of contact and phone/fax/e-mail info. We anticipate issuance of the RFP on January 12, 2001. There is a site visit scheduled for February 13, 2001 at 9:00am Central Time. This will be the only site visit scheduled. The magnitude of the construction is between $300,000 and $600,000. The SIC code is 1761 and the corresponding NAICS code is 235610. The size standard is $7 million. The performance period will be 150 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Proposals are due by close of business March 30, 2001. Award will be made to the offeror who the Government determines can best accomplish the necessary work to satisfy the requirements set forth in the RFP in a manner most advantageous to the Government. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the low offeror.
