Description

The USDA intends to award a sole source purchase order to Myers Vacuum Repair Services, Inc. pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253 (1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for a Lab -- 3 Centrifugal Molecular Distillation System with the following salient characteristics: Still Assembly which includes a degassing chamber, a 3" diameter heated rotor with single speed motor, a water cooled condensing surface, feed valve, distillate/residue valves and return loop to the degassing chamber for multiple pass operation. Most surfaces are stainless steel and limited use of glass; a Pumping System, which includes the mechanical vacuum pump, diffusion high vacuum pump, and cold trap, which are individually valved for quick service. The water, air and vacuum manifolds are also mounted in the cabinet. The entire cabinet is easily disconnected via hose connections; a Control Center which includes a rugged thermistor vacuum gauge, a closed loop temperature controller, individual control switches and a variable power switch for addition of heat tapes if desired. This is a Lab-scale still and will be a direct compliment to the Pilot-15 currently being used. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability to Rebecca Holzinger at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received an order will be placed with Myers Vacuum Repair Services. The SIC Code/Size is 3826/500 EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.*****
