Description

SOLICITATION NOTICE: The Utah National Guard proposes to award a contract for the construction of an Aircraft Maintenance Complex located at the Utah Air National Guard Base, Salt Lake City, Utah. The main building is an office building and will have 38,500 square feet of floor space in two stories. It will be of structural steel construction, including steel floor and roof joists, metal decking and concrete floors with brick, metal siding, stucco veneer and metal roofing. A smaller building (4,000 square feet) will also be constructed. This building will have concrete footings and floor, metal walls, siding and roofing. The project also includes minor remodeling of two existing hangars and a general purpose shop (total of 72,189 square feet). Three buildings are scheduled for demolition under this contract with a total square footage of 10,804. To finish the appearance of the project new asphalt roads, parking areas, curb & gutter, sidewalk, storm drainage system and utilities are included. Since the project will involve a large portion of the base a phased construction plan will be adhered to. This award is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and will be an unrestricted acquisition. All qualified businesses are encouraged to participate. Large businesses are required to comply with FAR clause 52.219-9 regarding the requirement for submission of a subcontracting plan. Plan will be submitted before contract can be awarded. The Standard Industrial Classification System Code (SIC) has been replaced by the North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS). The NAICS Code for this procurement is 233320, which is matched to SIC Code 1542. For the purpose of this procurement, a concern is considered a small business if its average annual receipts are $27.5 million or less. Estimated magnitude is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Performance period is 900 calendar days. Solicitation packages will be issued from the contracting office. Drawings and specifications will be available from a specified printing company for a duplication fee. The bidder will be responsible for obtaining copies of the drawings and specifications for his use. Instructions for obtaining the drawings will be included with the solicitation package. Solicitation documents are tentative scheduled for January 16, 2001. All requests shall be in writing.
