Description

This modified synopsis updates the RFP issue and response dates as stated in the previous modified synopsis Submission Number 5081L9 that was posted in the CBD on 05 December 2000. This modified synopsis also makes changes to the type of acquisition procedures to be utilized. The solicitation will no longer utilize FAR part 12 "commercial Acquisition procedures" and will not be procured as a "Brand Name or Equal". The requirements for the electric motor will be in accordance with MIL-M-17060E dated 20 May 1977 in accordance with FAR Part 15. The electric motors, to be installed on U.S. Navy minesweepers, shall have a magnetic permeability of 2.0 or less, and be shock tested in accordance with Mil-S-901D. The RFP will now be issued on or about 10 January 2001. The closing date shall be on or about 09 February 2001. No other changes are being made. Evaluation will be based on a best value analysis, with past performance being moderately more important than price. When issued, the RFP will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link "www.neco.navy.mil". All offerors wishing to submit an offer, are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFP from the NECO Website (WinZIP is required) and to frequently monitor that site for any amendments to the RFP. No telephone or fax requests for the RFP package will be accepted. An email request to "brad_e_demers@puget.fisc.navy.mil" will be accepted in the event an offer experiences problems downloading the RFP from the NECO website. No bidders list will be maintained by this office. No paper copies of the RFP and/or amendments will be mailed. All responsible sources may submit an offer/bid which, if timely received, shall be considered by FISCPS. Note 26 applies.
