- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard has a requirement for Various General Motors Corporation, Electro-Motive Division (EMD) Parts. The various parts in various quantities are required for the EMD diesel engines on the 378' WHEC FRAM and 180' WLB vessels. Delivery will be F. O. B. Destination to the U. S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. A requirements type contract with one (1) base year and four (4) option years is anticipated. It is the Government's belief that only General Motors Corporation, Electro-Motive Division or their authorized distributors can provide the various parts. Technical data and/or drawings pertaining to the various engine parts is not available within the Government and are proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer, General Motors Corporation, Electro-Motive Division. However, other potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from the date of this announcement. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered parts, 1) i.e. salient physical, functional and serviceability characteristics, or 2) data that the offered parts have satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the Original Equipment Manufacturer. No cost or pricing data is required. See numbered Notes 12 and 22. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), short-term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
