AMENDMENT 0001 TO COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR A COMMERCIAL ITEM PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND NOTICE #508622 DATED 11 DEC 00 CONSTITUTE THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO CLARIFY AND ADD TO THE SPECIFICATIONS. OFFEROR MUST ACKNOWLEDGE NOTICE OF THIS AMENDMENT IN THEIR QUOTES. Amendment 0001 to W81UJF-0313-0311, Temperature/Humidity Chamber 1. This office has received questions today as follows: Question A. We do not have a copy of TAPPI Test Method T402. Would it be possible for you to fax us a copy? Answer: We are not allowed to send out copies of TAPPI test methods to individuals without infringing on copyrights. They can be purchased through TAPPI PRESS, Atlanta, GA, phone (800) 332-8686. In general, this specification simply states that the preconditioning atmosphere is 10-35 % Relative Humidity and 72-104 degrees F. and the conditioning atmosphere is 50.0% +/- 2.0 % Relative Humidity and 73.4 +/- 1.8 degrees F. Question B. Is chamber to be air-cooled or water cooled? If air cooled, will condenser be indoors or outdoors? If outdoors, how far from chamber? Answer: This chamber is to be water-cooled. Question C. Spec says government will place chamber NEAR the required site. Why not AT the required site? Will Government provide fork lift to move to required site? Answer: We state that the government will place the unit near the site to allow the installer ample room to make any required adjustments or modifications. We will have a 4000-pound fork truck and driver available to provide assistance in the final positioning of the machine.2. Item 2.5 is ameded to state: The chamber shall be supplied with a programmable, ramping controller-Watlow F4 or better. 3. Offer Due Date remains at 17 Jan 2001 at 4:30 p.m. 4.
