Description
Work to be performed under this solicitation consists of reconditioning generator air coolers at Hoover Dam and Powerplant. These services consist of transporting, inspecting, cleaning, reconditioning, delivering, and testing generator air coolers. The air coolers are from generators manufactured and installed by General Electric and Westinghouse. Air coolers to be reconditioned in any given year may be all General Electric, all Westinghouse, or any combination of the two. The air coolers are located at the Hoover Dam Central Warehouse, approximately seven miles northeast of Boulder City, Nevada, in Clark County. The reconditioned air coolers are not required to be installed under this contract. Installation will be performed by Hoover Dam personnel. The proposed contract will be for a period of one year from the date of contract award and will include Government options for four additional one-year performance periods. The total duration of the contract will not exceed five years. The minimum order per year will be one (1) air cooler and the maximum order per year will not exceed six (6) air coolers. This acquisition will be pursued in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This solicitation is a total Small Business Set-Aside. For this acquisition the North American Industry Classification System code is 332410 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. We will issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) in the form of a solicitation which will include a description of the work requirements, instructions to offerors, and required certifications. We estimate that we will issue the solicitation on January 8, 2001. Currently, we anticipate that the due date for quotes will be February 7, 2001. No documents will be available until the solicitation is issued. There is no charge for one hard copy of the solicitation. You will receive a complete solicitation with the specifications and drawings. The solicitation documents, except for the drawings, will also be available online at no charge. For companies who will obtain the documents from the web site, you may order the drawings only.
