Description
In accordance with Secretary Herman's commitment to increase the Department's utilization of all types of small businesses, the U. S. Department of Labor Office of Small Business Programs sponsors bi-monthly Small Business Vendor Outreach Sessions. The purpose of these sessions is to provide an opportunity for small businesses to market their capabilities directly to OSBP and DOL agency officials and to learn about potential DOL procurement opportunities. The sessions also provide an efficient vehicle for DOL procurement officials to learn more about the diverse resources available from the small business community to meet DOL procurement requirements. This year, the Department of Labor intends to make full use of two new procurement programs available to increase the participation of small businesses in DOL procurements -- the HUBZone Empowerment Contracting Program and the Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Program. Accordingly, on Thursday, January 25, 2001, OSBP will host a special Vendor Outreach Session for HUBZone and Disabled (Including Service-Disabled) Veteran-Owned Businesses. During this special session, vendors will have an opportunity to meet with DOL agency officials and with DOL prime contractors. The session will be held in the U.S. Department of Labor Frances Perkins Building at 200 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC., from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Vendors must register in advance and may register for up to eleven 15-minute appointments. The first available appointments will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the last appointments will begin at 11:45 a.m. Follow-up meetings with agency personnel may be scheduled for a later date, if mutually agreed upon. To register, contact Star-Yvette Daye at 202-693-6480 or e-mail: daye-star-yvette@dol.gov. A copy of your schedule will be faxed to you. For more information about the Department's utilization of HUBZone and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, please contact Charles E.
