- Description
- The Department of Veteran Affairs Maryland Health Care System, Baltimore, Maryland is seeking an Architect/Engineering firm capable of providing professional multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering services. The A/E firm will provide services such as, but not limited to: schematics, geological survey, architectural, mechanical,electrical and civil design services to include a complete set of drawings and construction specifications to construct a new 2-story building approximately 15,000 GSF at the VA Baltimore Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center(BRECC), 3900 Loch Raven Boulevard, Baltimore, MD. This building will provide space for an Adult Day Health Care Program, Rehab Therapy, Canteen Service and parking for handicap assessable vans. The A/E will also provide construction period services and a checklist for submittals. The estimated construction range is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Interest firms must have working offices within a 75 mile radius of the BRECC. The following Evaluation Criteria will be used during the A/E selection process: (1) Specialized experience of the firm to perform required work; (2) Capacity of the firm to perform the work within the required time frames; (3) Past performance particularly government contracts; (4) Specific experience and qualifications of the proposed personnel assigned; (5)Geographic location of firm's working office in relation to the renovation site; (6) Demonstrated success in prescribing the use of recovered materials, and using waste reduction energy efficiency in facility design; (7)Reputation and standing of the firm and its principal officials with respect to professional performance, general management and cooperativeness and; (8) Record of significant claims against the firm because of improper or incomplete architectural and engineering services.
