Description

NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Offers (RFO) for a Fixed Price type Contract for the Design and Data Management System (DDMS) whose overall objective is to move the Johnson Space Center toward an integrated approach to managing and warehousing its engineering design data, from concept through manufacturing and deployment. The system shall provide simplified administration for project creation, tracking changes, managing day-to-day operations, configuration management of data consisting of CAD drawings and models, analysis results, and associated project information. The end product of this development shall be a web-based collaborative engineering environment allowing authorized users to create and track changes to projects simultaneously. The Statement of Work for this effort can be found at the following URL site: http://ec.msfc.nasa.gov/jsc/documents/DDMSRFP.doc This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. Award will be based upon overall best value to the Government with consideration given to the factors of proposed technical merits, price,and past performance; other critical requirements if so stated in the RFO will also be considered. The NAICS code and size standard for this procurement are 421430 and $5.0M, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing no later than Close of Business (COB) December 28, 2000 to Donald Ward at 281-483-7553 or FAX 281-483-2138. The anticipated release date of RFO 9-BJ2-Z19-0-60O is on or about December 29, 2000 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about January 10, 2001. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
