Description

Contract No. GS00T99NSC0002 with Sprint Communications, Inc. (Network B) for the extension to the Federal Telecommunications System 2000 (FTS2000) expired at midnight on December 6, 2000. This notice is to advise that the GSA issued a negotiated modification, on a sole-source basis, to extend the performance of services for an additional 6-month period. The modification is authorized under FAR Part 6.302-2, "unusual and compelling urgency". The current contract expired on December 6, 2000 and the agency could not perform its mission without full performance from the incumbent contractor during this final stage of transition. The contract will now expire on June 6, 2001. *****
