Description

The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) has a requirement to procure the services of an impartial, independent contractor to review and resolve in a timely manner reconsiderations that affirm denial of coverage, in whole or in part, made under the Social Secuirty Act by: (1) Medicare Managed Care Organizations (which include Medicare+Choice Organizations (M+COs) under Section 1852, cost contracts under Section 1876, and Health Care Prepayment Plans (HCPPs) under Section 1833), and (2) Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) organizations under Section 1894, and to perform the necessary administrative functions associated with this activity. The contractor must be knowledgeable of the laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern Medicare managed care organizations and the PACE program. The Government intends to award a single, fixed-price contract for a 12-month base period plus four (4) 12-month option periods. This procurement will be conducted as a full and open competition. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 541611 with a small business size standard not to exceed $5 million.
