On Friday, April 20, 2001 the FAA Headquarters is hosting an on-site Technology Expo that will take place from 10:00 a.m. -- 2:00 p.m. This event is advertised to the Entire FAA HQ Building including the Office of the Administrator, Administration for Budget and Accounting, Administration for Airports, Administrator for Civil Aviation Security, Administrator for Human Resource Management, Administrator of Policy, Planning, and International Aviation, Executive Director for System Operations, Associate Administrator for Air Traffic, Administrator for Aviation Standards, Administration for Airway Facilities, Administrator for Regulation and Certification, Administrator for Contracting and Quality Assurance and Director for System Development. With the strong support from our sponsors, we expect another outstanding event! The sponsor has requested that many of the companies be Accessibility/Assistive Companies, and small businesses are encouraged to exhibit. Hardware and software companies are strongly encouraged to exhibit as well. The FAA has a bigger budget than most Federal Agencies! The FAA HQ mission is to: Regulate air commerce in ways that best promote its development and safety and fulfill the requirements of national defense; control the use of navigable airspace of the United States and regulate both civil and military operations in such airspace in the interest of safety and efficiency; promote, encourage and develop civil aeronautics; consolidate research and development with respect to air navigation facilities; install and operate air navigation facilities, develop and operate a common system of air traffic control and navigation for both civil and military aircrafts; maintains a national plan of airport requirements; responsible for the location, construction or installation, maintenance, operation, and quality assurance of federal visual and electronic aids to navigation; develops standards and technical guidance on airport planning, design, safety, and operations.
