- On Tuesday March 27th, 2001 The United States Department of Labor will be hosting a winter technology exposition. This event has speaking opportunities for any vendors interested This event will be promoted to Employment and Training Administration (ETA), Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration (PWBA), Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation (PBGC), Employment Standards Administration (ESA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Bureau of Labor Statistics (BSL), Office of the Solicitor (SOL), Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Women's Bureau (WB), Office of the Chief Financial Office (OCFO), Veterans' Employment and Training Services (VETS), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Office of Public Affairs, and the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs. The USDL Mission Statement: The U.S. Department of Labor is charged with preparing the American workforce for new and better jobs, and ensuring the adequacy of America's workplaces. It is responsible for the administration and enforcement of over 180 federal statutes. These legislative mandates and the regulations produced to implement them cover a wide variety of workplace activities for nearly 10 million employers and well over 100 million workers, including protecting workers' wages, health and safety, employment and pension rights; promoting equal employment opportunity; administering job training, unemployment insurance and workers' compensation programs; strengthening free collective bargaining and collecting, analyzing and publishing labor and economic statistics.
