Description
Bottom trawl vessel, at least 120 feet in length, needed to conduct study must conducted between May 1, 2001 and August 15, 2001, for 31 consecutive days, with an option for the Government to extend up to five additional days. Charter will begin and end in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Vessel must have a minimum main engine continuous horsepower of 1000, be able to tow a standard Bering Sea sole or Pacific cod bottom trawl with an 80 foot headrope. Must be completely rigged and ready to fish, and have a clean, flush deck area for scientific sampling of at least 800 sq. feet. The vessel must be staffed with five crew members consisting of a Captain, cook-fisherman, engineer-fisherman, and two fishermen. The Government's scientific field part will consist of six or seven people, and may include both men and women. Alternative proposals which may not meet all specifications, are encouraged to offer.
