Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to purchase one (1) -- Automated Fast performance Liquid Chromatography System (AFPLC). CDC believes that its requirements are met by only one provider, Amersham Pharmacia Biotech, Inc., however all responsive sources that can meet the requirements listed herein may submit a quote which will be considered by the agency. Description of the requirements are: (1) One each -- AFPLC AND AFFINITY PACKAGE -- a fully automated liquid chromatography system for research scale purification of proteins. The system simplifies the transition from laboratory to full-scale production and must incorporate the following: pre-programmed method templates, a comprehensive column library to allow for various purification procedures, automatic scouting for purification development and optimization, short separation times using the standard column media, consistent reproducibility with high sensitivity, efficient fraction collection, automatic evaluation and report procedures, easy, fast scale up for large batch procedures, Flexibility for any purification procedure -- viral or antibody, easy system modification, all chromatographic techniques and column media. In addition to the above, Flow rates up to 20 ml/min and pressures up to 5 Mpa, One working platform for all liquid chromatography techniques suitable for protein purification, from microgram to gram scale, Method templates as a basis for creating customized methods, A fraction collector, Column selection; Affinity chromatography, Ion exchange, Hydrophobic interactions, Reverse phase, Size exclusion, Buffer selection, Flowthrough fractionation and collection of large fractions, Optional functions, On-line pH measurement, Connection of a dedicated sample pump. (2) FOB -- Origin -- estimate shipping charges. This is an all or none requirement. Delivery must be made within 90 days of purchase. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLITICTATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The following provision(s) apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items (MAR 2000) applies to this acquisition; 52.212-2, Evaluation -- Commercial Items (JAN 1999); the evaluation criteria stated in paragraph (a) of this provision are as follows: (1) technical capability of the proposed system to meet the requirements stated herein, and (2) price. The clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms & Conditions -- Commercial Items (MAY 1999) applies to this acquisition. The following FAR Clauses are hereby added to this clause: The clause at 52.212-5 -- Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items applies to this acquisition.
