Description
The Social Security Administration, SSA, is seeking sources to provide hardware and software maintenance services for Non-Intelligent Workstation/Local Area Network, Non-IWS/LAN, equipment, standalone personal computers and related peripheral equipment located in approximately 32 Foreign Service Posts, (FSP). The equipment is located in the United States Embassies. SSA requires maintenance service for Token Ring LANs using Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with IBM compatible 586 base processors. The LANs and associated equipment consists of workstations, file servers, network interface cards, controlled access units, lobe attachment modules, remote bridges, master console keyboard/monitor/mouse switch, compact disk read-only memory towers, external tape backups, laser and secure printers and uninterruptable power supplies. The maintenance requirement consist of 1. remedial on-call maintenance for components including network devices, cable plant and all other LAN devices attached or operating on the networks and 2. preventive maintenance on laser printers to be performed on an as needed basis. SSA requires that an automated Network Testing and Acceptance Process, NTAP, procedure be developed and documented. The automated and documented NTAP procedure must be updated quarterly. Contractor must also provide for incremental software upgrades. Contractor must be able to provide maintenance support at all 32 FSP sites. Currently LANs, consisting of approximately 820 pieces of equipment, are installed at the following nine FSP sites: Ciudad Juarez, Guadalajara; Mexico City, Mexico; Manila, Philippines; Athens, Greece; Frankfurt, Germany; London, England; Naples and Rome, Italy. The following five FSP sites will have LANs installed approximately by June 2001: Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France; Madrid, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The following eighteen FSPs, consisting of approximately 180 pieces of equipment, will not have a LAN installed but will contain workstations, card readers and laser and secure printers. The sites are: San Jose, Costa Rica; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Kingston, Jamaica; Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Israel; Sanaa, Yemen; Belgrade, Serbia-Montenegro; Vienna, Austria; Oslo, Norway; Stockholm, Sweden; Bern, Switzerland; Nice, France; Warsaw, Poland; Krakow, Poland; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Brussels, Belgium; Hong Kong, China and Zagreb, Croatia. Firms currently performing support consistent with these requirements are invited to submit complete details. Respondents are asked to provide information about corporate experience and or capabilities and indicate whether these services are available through your GSA Schedule. Also respondents are asked to provide three references with similar requirements to what SSA is requesting. Please include a copy of your GSA Schedule if services are available on schedule, to the above address within fifteen calendar days from the date of publication of this announcement.
