- SUBJECT: Market Survey TITLE: Obstacle Avoidance System (OASYS) DESC: U.S. Army CECOM Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate is to determining the availability of a non-development item helicopter Obstacle Avoidance System (OASYS) capable of detecting wires and other obstacles representing hazards to helicopters engaged in high speed, low level flight. To be considered as a non-developmental item, the OASYS must be capable of being demonstrated on board an operating helicopter. The requirements for an OASYS include, but not limited to the following: a) The OASYS must survey an angular field of at least 20 degrees in elevation and 30 degrees in azimuth. b) Must incorporate a display or warning system which provides real-time hazard warning to the pilot. c) Must weigh less than 100 lbs with the potential for significant weight reduction in a maturation phase.
