Description

The FHWA has a requirement for a contractor to conduct a review of pertinent literature on recent and current research in the area of Characterization of Electrochemical and Surface Chemistry Properties of Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) _ Susceptible Aggregate. The tasks would include a compilation of available information on existing physical, chemical, electrochemical and instrumental methods for characterizing aggregate reactivity. In addition, the contractor would generate a database of candidate aggregate for investigation including a broad spectrum of aggregate types, levels of ASR susceptibility, extensive prior test results and field performance. The solicitation, all related documents and amendments, if any, would only be released and available electronically through the Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov. NO WRITTEN, TELEPHONIC, FACSIMILE OR EMAIL REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE HONORED. Interested parties can register at the aforementioned site to receive procurement announcements by email. Since this solicitation will only be available electronically, it is the responsibility of interested parties to MONITOR the EPS website for any solicitation amendments. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit an offer. This is a FULL AND OPEN COMPETITIVE requirement. It is currently estimated that the RFP will be posted on the EPS on or about January 30, 2001.
