Description

This work consists of contruction and modifications to utilize Building 94 discharge water for non-potable uses. Construction of a new exterior storage tank behind Building 8 and a pumping system within the existing Building 10. Installation of yard piping and valves required to intercept the Building 94 discharge water, and divert it to the new water storage tank. Installation of a new overflow line from the water storage tank to the existing storm drain system, and a new pressurized water supply line from the new pumping system in Building 10 to the 10-inch firemain that runs in from of Building 8. Installation of new non-potable water connections from the firemain into each major building and then connection within the building to non-potable water uses such as lawn sprinkler systems, cooling towers and boiler feed make-up. Demolition of a 75,000 gallon elevated storage tank. The estimated cost of the work is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Work shall be completed within 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Solicitation will be available on or about January 17, 2000. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. Solicitation documents shall be available on the Web at http://acquisition.army.mil and/or http://www.nae.usace.army.mil. Prospective bidders, subcontractors, and plan rooms are required to self-register their firm or office through the Internet. Registration instructions are available at either of the two internet sites listed above. Neither telephonic, mailed or fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information. Registristration must include the firm's physical address, telephone, a valid fax number, and a point of contact. Registration shall be completed one week prior to the issue date. All notifications of changes to this solicitation shall be made through the Internet only. It is therefore, the contractor's responsibilty to check the Internet addresses listed above daily, for any posted changes to the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the New England District.
